
Description
As an Associate Product Designer at Paycom, you will be focused on developing and refining your UI/UX design skills to deliver quality experience in a timely manner that are simple, consistent, automated and intuitive across the Paycom software. Your focus will be on learning and applying design principles across web and mobile platforms. Collaborating with your team, you will be responsible for creating mockups that align with Paycom's design standards, contributing to an improved user experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solve user issues through UI/UX activities while working closely with cross-functional teams, including your team lead
- Translate design solutions into practical layouts, ensuring consistent typography and visual hierarchy
- Create new components or patterns within our existing design systems and style guides. Maintain a cohesive Paycom experience for users.
- Work closely with product champions, product managers and developers to support design strategy
- Use the Paycom design system and style guides to create mock-ups that align with the Paycom experience
- Use research data and design principles to inform design choices
- Plan and participate in usability testing and incorporate usability data into designs
- Contribute to design-led projects and discussions within the team
- Learn and execute design processes
- Proactively seek feedback from leaders to enhance skills
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in design, including multi-platform application, product, graphic design, digital media or related
- Portfolio required for review upon interview
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in art, computer science or technical field or equivalent practical experience in application or product design
Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge in layout, typography, visual hierarchy, basic design principles, composition and color theory
- Some familiarity with user flows, cross-platform and information architecture
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
- Able to communicate effectively within the team
- Mobile interface design across multiple operating systems
- Ability to adapt to new programs as technology updates and changes
- Possess high aesthetic sense for user interface
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining organization and timely completion of projects
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various departments
