Summary of Job Description:
The CFT Investment Associate, Capital Partners is responsible for assisting the CFT Capital Partners team in making and managing direct and indirect private equity, private debt and venture capital investment decisions across various sectors. This position plays an integral role in the deal team throughout the entire investment process, including conducting financial due diligence, coordinating with external stakeholders and investment partners, preparing key reports and investment memorandums, presenting to the Senior Members and Investment Committee and monitoring the investment portfolio.
You'll get a chance to:
- Oversee quarterly portfolio report generation, tracks investment values, performance and trends, as well as presents to Senior Members.
- Responsible for managing certain direct relationships with portfolio companies and/or sponsors, closely monitoring investment updates, and making recommendations to Senior Members, as needed.
- Understand the interests and investment criteria of the Cherng Family Trust's Alternative Investment platform.
- Guide initial screening of investment opportunities and makes key recommendations to further underwrite based on an opportunity's fit under the investment mandate.
- Able to analyze all aspects of a company's business model, understanding products, competitive landscapes, industry dynamics, financial statements/models/projections, as well as has a strong understanding of transaction dynamics and assumptions.
- Lead and supervise analyst-prepared transaction materials including detailed data analysis, investment memoranda, drafting summary investment emails and reports.
- Help develop junior investment professionals in all aspects, including deal acumen, analytical abilities, work product, peer relationships, and comfort around higher management.
- Monitor current industry developments, underlying trends that affect the equity/debt capital markets.
- Contribute to the overall direction of the investment strategy based on market/industry conditions.
- Help conduct due diligence calls and management meeting and manage the due diligence processes by coordinating with sponsor and/or portfolio company.
- Assist in deal closing processes by supporting review of transaction documents and coordinating between external parties and internal departments to ensure smooth closing.
- Develop network of investment partners, including sponsors, family offices, and private placement agents to assist in origination of new opportunities.

Your background and experience:
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 3.5 GPA required
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience
- Chartered Financial Analyst candidacy preferred
- Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
- Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Pay Range: M2: $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual
* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
ADA Statement:
While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
