The ideal candidate will possess security, military or law enforcement supervisory experience, preference to industrial security supervision experience will be given. The successful candidate will possess (or is eligible to obtain) a valid Alberta Security License and will be required to maintain the certification. A valid non GDL class 5 license is required. Standard First Aid and CPR "C" is an asset.
The Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day operations at the client's industrial site.
The supervisor will have exceptional communication skills and superior reporting abilities. The Supervisor is required to attend regular client meetings and represent Paladin Security in a professional and courteous manner at all times. The Supervisor must work well under pressure, knowing when to bring issues to management, critical thinking and problem solving are must have traits. Customer service is paramount, with multiple representatives from different companies on site daily. Previous experience or familiarity with OH&S is an asset. Computer skills are a must, with a number of different programs being used on site to assist in maintaining security. Multiple interviews may be required for successful completion of the hiring process. The successful candidate will have a detailed cover letter explaining how they meet or exceed the qualifications. The cover letter will detail personal experience in law enforcement, military and/or security.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance and sustain effective relationships with clients and patrons
• Primary onsite point of contact between Paladin Security and TransAlta
• Ensure staff is completing patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches, and note any concerns
• Ensure staff attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure site security protocols are being followed by all
• De-escalate crisis situations, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel, including; police, fire and paramedic resources
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability and day to day reports
• Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Incident reporting, including OH&S
• Emergency response and incident command responsibilities as per site standing orders.
• Operating CCTV and access control systems providing instruction and training on the same systems
• Scheduling, ensuring that vacancies are filled with ample time for agents to be rested for shifts.
• Provide training, including scenario based emergency response drills as per the provided schedule.
• Other duties as delegated
The Supervisory role is Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
