We are looking for an internal trainer for the St. Anthony / Northern Peninsula Region. 

Paladin Security prides itself on the development and support of its staff to equip them with the necessary skills and tools to be successful and to ultimately provide the best possible quality of service to our clients. We are currently seeking a motivated individual with a strong security background to assist in delivering in-class training, teaching practical theory and applied physical skills to our team members. 

This position will initially deliver training in Management of Aggressive Behaviour and First Aid, however the scope may be expanded to include instruction in other courses on an ad-hoc basis to align with business needs and branch growth.


Paladin Security will provide the successful candidate with necessary training and accreditations to deliver the desired course material. 

For those selected for a part time role, you will still maintain your duties as part of our security team and will be utilized as required for this role. 

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsible for instructing the Managment of Aggressive Behaviour,
and ensuring course material aligns to Paladin Securitys standards, and remains in line with healthcare best practice in Canada, and philosophies maintained by our clients. 
Maintain appropriate certifications for instruction. 
Provide a variety of instructional and flexible assessment strategies which will meet the learning needs of a wide range of course participants. 
Monitor participants performance and identify areas for improvement, to ensure course standards, training requirements and objectives of the course are met. 
Provide accurate written evaluation of participants performance in the classroom. 
Maintain a safe environment for learning, and ensuring consideration for participants individual abilities. 
Provide feedback and suggestions to the NL lead trainer and Branch Manager for opportunities to update course content and course offerings. 
Training will be provided at the Paladin Security office in St. Johns, as well as client locations. There is the potential for some travel within the province to assist in delivering training in rural locations. Expenses will be covered if/when the need arises. 
Perform other duties / tasks as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Possess the physical capabilities to practice and conduct the MOAB curriculum
Education and Experience 
grade 12 diploma plus some post-secondary education. 
Minimum of 3 years experience in a front-line security capacity or combination of direct security experience and experience in a related capacity and/or relevant education. 
Supervisory and/or management experience. 
Valid First Aid with CPR certification 

Skills and Abilities 

A firm knowledge of the Canadian Legal System as it pertains to Security Officers 
An understanding of adult education principles 
A comfort in public speaking 
A solid awareness of Paladins core philosophy 
A personal interest and demonstrated ability in the safe and non-harmful application of physical control, restraint and use of force techniques.

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
