Hours: Monday to Friday - 0800-1600

Status: Full-Time Permanent 

Pay rate: $27.61/hour

Site Description: 

CF Sherway Gardens is located just west of downtown at the junction of Hwy. 427 & QEW. There is easy direct access to the shopping center from both QEW and Hwy. 427 via Sherway Gardens Road. Job Description:

You will supervise the day-to-day operations of the security team at Sherway Gardens, ensuring all security functions run smoothly, effectively, and efficiently. Your leadership will help maintain an optimal balance between protection, customer service, and operational excellence.

  • Lead, mentor, schedule, and evaluate mall security officers
  • Monitor and maintain security coverage across all zones, entrances, common areas, service corridors, and parking facilities
  • Oversee the reporting and investigation of incidents (suspicious activity, theft, medical emergencies, disturbances, trespassing, etc.)
  • Respond to emergency events, coordinate with external services (police, fire, EMS), and lead the security team in executing emergency protocols
  • Regularly perform or supervise patrols (foot, vehicle, CCTV) to detect and deter risks
  • Enforce mall policies, by-laws, codes of conduct, and property rules (including the Trespass to Property Act, fire safety, health & safety)
  • Work closely with property management, tenant representatives, and law enforcement bodies to maintain security standards, share information, and execute joint operational plans
  • Coordinate, review, and provide feedback on daily and weekly security reports, logs, rosters, incident files, and other documentation
  • Facilitate training, drills, and briefings (e.g. customer service, safety, emergency response, active assailant, first aid, evacuation)
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and identification of security or maintenance issues
  • Take part in new tenant onboarding, providing security orientation and integration into security protocols
  • Participate in strategic planning, continuous process improvement, and the development of security policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Act as escalation point for site-level security matters and enforce accountability within the team

Qualification & Skills

  • A minimum of 3–5 years' experience in security operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, emergency response, physical security, investigation, loss prevention
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and de-escalation ability
  • Strong critical thinking, situational awareness, and decision-making under pressure
  • Comfortable using CCTV systems, access control systems, security software, radios, mobile devices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, multitask, and meet tight deadlines

Prerequisites:

  1. Valid Ontario Security Guard license
  2. Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
  3. Proof of 2 Doses for Covid 19
