Site Description:
The Afternoon Team Lead in coordination with the Site Supervisor is directly responsible for Paladin Security operations at London Public Library. With the support of the Site Supervisor this position ensures high quality security services are provided to the client. These services include access control, customer service, emergency incident management and training.
Position: Full-Time Team Lead

Pay Rate: $19.00/HR
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Hours: Monday – Thursday 13:30 – 21:30 & Friday 11:00 – 18:30hrs

Position Overview
- Control, oversee and direct the activities of Site Guards during the afternoon shift
- Motivate and manage the performance of security staff to ensure that the performance of all Guards is of the highest quality and complies with requirements
- Liaise with the London Public Library management and Community Agencies with regard to any security issues and implement instructions and temporary post orders as necessary
- Assist in developing policies for continuous improvement to services to enhance services
- Orientate and Train: Provide appropriate orientation and training
- Assign Work: Assign special assignment duties to guards ensuring they are qualified and trained for the task
- Scheduling: Create and manage the work schedule for the department
- Corrective Actions: Address performance problems through the Paladin performance management procedures
- Incident Reports: Review and sign-off on all incident reports created each shift by Security
- Emergency Response: Emergency Team Representative to actively monitor site conditions and assist with plant evacuation process
Preferred skills/qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (required)
- Valid First Aid & CPR certificate
- Management of Aggressive Behaviour
- Use of Force
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills
- Exellent English communication and writing skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to think critically and independently problem solve
- Ability to foster a team
- Motivation and ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Minimum one to three years Security Experience ideally in Commercial, Retail, Healthcare
Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
