Imperial Oil's Nanticoke site is a large refinery located in Southwestern Ontario. It has a refining capacity of about 113,500 barrels per day and produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, asphalt, and other petroleum products. It is considered a complex refinery with advanced units like fluid catalytic cracking, hydrotreaters, and sulfur recovery systems. Imperial Oil emphasizes safety with regular emergency drills and community alert systems, and it participates in environmental monitoring programs to manage emissions and comply with regulations.
The Security guard is expected to represent Paladin Security Group as well as the facility they are assigned to.

Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
- Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
- Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
- Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
- Security personnel at this location are primary for emergency duties
- Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures
- Operate Site Center COM Radio system as required
- Custodian of keys and key log for Gates
- Issue card keys to authorized persons and site access Control System visitor cards
- Monitor CCTV and report all unusual activities to the Security Shift Leader
- Operate weigh scale during the off-hours
- Liaise with other security staff and site leadership as required
- Use software to detect severe weather and heat and announce this to the site
- Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for communicating site activities
- Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Knowledge of Transport Canada MARSEC rules is an asset
- G license required.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
