Under direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, in collaboration with the Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehab Staff, the exercise physiologist will evaluate, assess and develop appropriate exercise regimen for inpatients and outpatients. Care will be provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, cardiopulmonary rehab policies and procedures and will be based on guidelines of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science or Exercise Physiology required. Masters degree desirable.
- Certification as an ACSM Exercise Physiologist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist required within one year of hire.
- BLS certification upon hire.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- A minimum of 1-2 years cardiac and/or pulmonary rehab clinical experience preferred.
- Internship in cardiac rehab preferred.
