After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Responsible for the overall development and operations of the Arts Department to include the administration, management, financing and delivery of arts programs and services. 


Responsibilities:

* Supervise Oneida Arts Department staff, which includes hiring, orientation, training, scheduling, evaluation and development of career plans of all staff, including artists and interns.
* Develop operational Policies and Procedures for the Oneida Arts Department.
* Provide and maintain excellent customer service
* Develop and implement formal arts instruction services and programs in the areas of fine art, music, dance, drama, sculpture and creative writing that will be easily accessible, timely and appropriate for tribal members of all ages.
* Write grants and proposals to operate the Oneida Arts Department.
* Integrates Oneida Tribal Cultural Art into the overall Oneida Arts Department services and programs.
* Develop and administer marketing and public relations programs for the Oneida Public Transit System.
* Develop opportunities for Oneida Tribal Members to continue their arts vocations.
* Monitor the services and instruction provided by the Arts Department to ensure the quality of services and that the department is meeting the arts needs of Tribal members.
* Conduct customer surveys to assess the needs and interests of tribal members relative to the arts.
* Develop an annual calendar of regularly scheduled and appropriately structured arts activities and programs that meet the needs of all Oneida Tribal members' age groups.
* Provide support services by being a resource to clients including artists, arts organizations, and community members interested in the arts
* Assist in creating and monitoring budgets for arts programming.
* Maintain accurate financial and programming records of projects in Arts Program spreadsheets and database.
* Network with other tribal and non-tribal organizations and programs for developing our programming, identifying collaboration opportunities
* Provide accurate reporting of projects and programs, including financials, attendances, levels of satisfaction and photographic documentation.
* Oversee website design, maintenance, and updates.
* Oversee production of print advertising including posters, brochures, newsletters, flyers, postcards, newspaper ads, and banners for the Arts Program and performing arts.
* Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required

* Ability to plan, organize and schedule priorities efficiently and effectively, meet strict deadlines and successfully cope with stressful situations and conditions
* Ability to think and act across and beyond conventional boundaries
* Working with computers, soundboards, lighting boards, video equipment and editing equipment.
* Knowledge of Quark, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Nike Camera Lotus Notes and Dreamweaver.

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts
* A Combination of Experience and Education May Be Considered

Credentials:

Essential:
* Driver's License Personal & Tribal Vehicle
* Insurance Required
Nonessential:
* FCC license for braodcasting
* Child Abuse Reporting Policy (CARP), within ninety (90) days of employment.
* Driver Safety Training

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
