After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

This position will provide leadership and supervision to the Education & Training Area of the Oneida Nation. This position will oversee the departments of Child Care, Higher Education, Job Training, Community Education Center, Early Intervention, Arts and the Youth Education Services. Position ensures Tribal members have access to educational opportunities that encourage the continued development of their personal potential. Position ensures compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.


Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership and guidance to all departments within the Education & Training Area to include Child Care, Early Intervention, Community Education Center, Higher Education, Arts, Job Training and Youth Enrichment Services (YES):

               a. On-going assessment and evaluation of Education and Training programs to insure obtainment of annual goals and objectives, performance outcomes, operational effectiveness and efficiency, and budgetary requirements.

               b. The development, implementation and maintenance of a strategic plan that incorporates short, medium and long-term performance outcomes that are aligned with the National Priorities and internal and external customer research.

               c. Operational monitoring and compliance in the development and implementation of management and administration practices across all programs to insure optimum performance, service quality and continuous improvement.

               d. Furthering and support of employee talent development through the promotion of training opportunities.

* Practice excellent customer service skills always to include, but not limited to addressing customer and employee needs courteously and promptly.
* Ensure compliance to contractual obligations and requirements.
* Provide necessary quarterly and monthly reporting.
* Develop, implement, monitor and maintain a customer satisfaction system that provides regular and timely feed back regarding service quality, service delivery, customer expectation, customer demand and customer needs.
* Implement and oversee operational systems of administration and management, budget and finance, day-to-day operations and research and design.
* Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
* Maintain continual communication throughout the chain of command on all relevant matters.
* Promote a workplace culture that emphasizes service to the community, employee wellness, and a collaborative environment

Skills:

Essential:
* Ability to identify and define problems, provide creative solutions and to make responsible decisions based on good judgement
* Knowledge in all applicable laws, rules and regulations relative to educational programs
* Ability to plan, conduct and participate in meetings in which the collective resources of the group members are used efficiently and effectively
* Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
* Knowledge and experience in team development and facilitation.

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Educational Administration
Nonessential:
* Master's Degree in Educational Administration

Experience:
Essential:
* previous successful experience in managing education and/or training programs including supervision of professional stff, short an dlong-term program planning, reporting, measurement of customer satisfaction survey, evaluation, grant development and budget management. 
Nonessential:
* Experience in conflict resolution/mediation.

* managing a department of multiple education

* Knowledge of Oneida History, Community, and Cultural Values, Indian law and treaties.

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
