SALARY: $24.24/hr (Negotiable)
After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, calculates, reviews and reconciles financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Provides financial statement review, report generation, and budget preparation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, maintain, and facilitate effective relationships, communications processes, and activities with all Gaming services personnel, and all other internal and external customers.
- Ensure established procedures and processes are utilized at all times to ensure maximum understanding and coordination is in place.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in all areas at all times. Adhere to established quality, service delivery, customer service, and customer demand expectations. Adhere to all audit, and legal regulations/laws and practices.
- Ensure all revenues are recorded and reported in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and consistent with established policy and procedures.
- Conduct monthly comparison and verification of the gaming systems and reconciliation of data posted to the General Ledger. Ensure proper recording and classification of revenue, expenses, and assets, as they relate to the gaming operations.
- Review reports for variances, trends, and current financial position.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts with supporting documentation to ensure balance sheet accounts are properly classified, recorded at realizable value and supported by adequate documentation.
- Develop a working knowledge of each system module and its contribution to financial reports including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Purchase Management, Fixed Assets, Intra-Tribal and Project Management.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for business units, external agencies, and department management.
- Participate in pre-audit planning, which includes the preparation of audit documentation.
- Provide assistance in financial statement interpretations to all Gaming Management.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of all: balance sheet, asset, liability, receivable accounts in the Gaming Division.
- Update the Chart of Accounts for all present and any new profit centers within the Gaming Division.
- Assist in and/or conduct informational meetings and trainings as needed/required.
- Assist in the development of the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and updates as needed/required.
- Perform expense analysis reports as requested by departments.
- Calculate, code and enter transactions into financial system including journal entries, and sub-system corrections.
- Assure General Ledger Numbers accurately reflects financial position monthly.
- Assist with cash counts, inventory counts, meter readings, and any other regulatory requirements as needed monthly/annually.
- Review and reconcile vendor invoices against sub-system for accuracy. (i.e. Bingo POS, Check Cashing/Cash Advance).
- Maintain a working knowledge of business unit's operations and associated industry standards.
- Ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and local policies and procedures.
- Prepare, review, edit, and post daily cash receipt entries and monthly recurring journals as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Associate Degree in Accounting.
- Four (4) years accounting work experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently sit, walk.
- Work is performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
- The work environment may NOT be smoke, noise, or dust free.
- A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
