What you'll do:

This position calls for a well-organized person who enjoys working with technology and people. The preferred candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and be highly experienced with electromechanical assemblies. Candidates who show initiative, help improve our processes, and meet schedules will have opportunities to advance. Additional details about what you will be doing includes:

 

  • Accurately and safely assemble electromechanical assemblies in accordance with drawings, written, or verbal instructions, which may include the following tasks:
    • Solder, strip, crimp, splice electrical wires
    • Build mechanical subassemblies using a variety of fastening methods
    • Torque fasteners to proper spec and in proper sequence
    • Route cables and securing wiring throughout systems
    • Properly and consistently attach labels or name plates to assemblies, components, or cables
    • Measure dimensions to verify proper clearance of parts
    • Safely use standard assembly tooling (hex wrenches, screw drivers, wire cutters, wire strippers, torque tools, etc.)
    • Use appropriate tooling/fixtures to aid in proper assembly
    • Read and understand electrical schematics
  • Inspect and test subassemblies, which may include the following tasks:
    • Verify mechanical functionality, where appropriate
    • Test for electrical continuity using a voltmeter
  • Perform field service, as needed
  • Proficiently navigate 3D CAD/e-drawings as an aid to assembly
  • Possess advanced or expert level proficiency in the layout, routing, and termination of wires for UL 508A electrical panels
  • Possess advanced or expert level proficiency in building cables/wire harnesses that conform to IPC 620 standards
  • Possess advanced or expert level proficiency of assembling 24V safety circuits (e-stops, light curtains, status lights, sensors)
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for electromechanical assemblies (motors, cables, electrical panels, mechanical assemblies)
  • Act as a leader for the entire production team, upholding Olympus Controls' values, ethics, and commitments to quality and safety

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 4+ years' experience in manufacturing of electromechanical devices or electrical panels required
  • Technical schooling or degree in technical field highly preferred
  • Highly proficient computer user
  • Demonstratable IPC 620 proficiency or documented training required
  • Demonstratable UL 508A proficiency or documented training required
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, with a team player spirit
  • Strong leadership skills
