Key Responsibilities
- Assist with design portions of a project related to discipline systems according to code and standards under the direct supervision of the engineering department
- Participates in the analysis and validation of design concepts
- Perform design calculations for given projects where appropriate
- Performs routine engineering tasks using standard engineering practices
- Learn to apply applicable design principles related to Project requirements
- Follow Oldcastle's national CAD standards and procedures for creation of product drawings utilizing AutoCAD
- Review bills of materials and production drawings
- Assist drafters and engineers as needed
Qualifications / Required Skills
- Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (possibly open to Mechanical, but not preferred), or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Ability to write reports and analyze raw data
- Knowledge of construction practices is a plus
