Position: Residential Life Supervisor
Location: 7175 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa 15206
Reports to: Social Development Director
Employment Type: Salaried, Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and maintain group living conditions, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students
  • Assist students in adjusting to center life and developing social skills essential for employment
  • Coordinate dormitory activities and schedules, fostering student engagement and career preparation
  • Train and mentor residential staff, providing guidance and support for student success
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate holistic student development and growth
  • Promote a positive and respectful climate on center, free from harassment and intimidation

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Prefer Associate of Arts degree
  • One year of experience in dormitory management or related field working with at-risk youth
  • Preferably, experience with Job Corps and supervisory roles
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and ability to effectively communicate with disadvantaged youth
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with education and vocational training programs, as well as local social service resources
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students

Working Conditions:This position involves various physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and driving. Environmental demands include exposure to moderate noise levels and fluctuating temperatures.
