Ochsner Health is seeking a BC/BE ANESTHESIOLOGIST for our team at OCHSNER MEDICAL CENTER WEST BANK in a close suburb of New Orleans.

Opportunity Details:

· Stable group of 7 MDs seeking to replace a doctor moving out of state.

· Position is supervision of a group of seasoned CRNAs.

· Weekday call starts at 3pm and is split evenly among the 7 physicians. The call person is off on the post-call day.

· Call is taken in hospital and most nights are relatively quiet with an occasional epidural or a case. CRNAs are called in for all cases.

· Practice is that of a smaller community hospital, plus some academic training. Our department provides the airway rotation for Ochsner's small Emergency Medicine residency, and we sometimes have a senior Anesthesia resident from the academic programs at Ochsner's larger urban campus.

· Diverse case mix: Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Spine, Vascular, Labor and Delivery, and occasional Thoracic. No cardiac, or craniotomies.

· Regional blocks for Orthopedic cases.

· The leadership in the departments that Anesthesia works with most closely is outstanding and the relationships with Anesthesia are very collegial (Surgery, Hospital Medicine, ICU, GI, ED, Labor and Delivery). The hospital senior administration team is excellent, stable and has a great relationship with the department and anesthesia leadership. This is a great time to join Ochsner Westbank.

· Requires team player committed to developing good relationships with our surgeons, nurses and medical staff.

· Recent market increase in base salary. Annual production bonus paid based on system department target.

· Weekend and Holiday work required but system in place to allow easy transfer to colleagues desiring to work for additional salary.
