The Infection Preventionist coordinates the hospital's Infection Control/Employee Health program in compliance with the established policies, procedures and standards of care. Provides surveillance and education relative to the prevention, detection, identification and control of infectious/communicable diseases within the hospital.
Oak Hill Hospital is the largest medical facility in Hernando County, recently completing a major expansion, bringing its bed total to 280 and adding its popular obstetrics program, The Maternity Suites. The hospital is one of the area's largest private employers, and offers Hernando County's only comprehensive cardiovascular surgery program and one of the most advanced robotic assisted surgical systems. The hospital launched GME a few years ago which continues to expand and now includes anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine podiatry and transitional year programs.

Two years previous experience in Infection Prevention preferred, or 3-5 years clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse, or medical technologist in Microbiology, Public health or Epidemiology
Current Florida State Registered Nurse license or Medical Technologist only required for RNs and Medical Technologist. Candidates with a Master's in Public Health are not required to be licensed
Certification in Infection Control preferred, required to obtain certification in Infection Control within 2 years after hire
