Position is located in Arlington, Virginia and reports to the office five days a week, with occasional flexibility to work from home.
We are looking for a detail oriented, organized and pro-active executive assistant to support our CEO. This role works as part of a team with two other executive assistants who support the board of directors and COO. NRECA has a service oriented, dynamic and collaborative culture where relationships and teamwork are the building blocks to success. The willingness to provide additional project support and demonstrate willingness to contribute where needed is essential. Key Responsibilities include:
Manage schedules, travel arrangements and expense reports for the CEO.
Facilitate effective workflow and communications within the CEO office.
Build effective relationships with senior leaders and staff members across departments.
Coordinate schedules and meetings with senior staff members.
Manage meetings logistics for internal events such as Town Halls, employee gatherings and member meetings.
Collaborate to ensure effective support for the Board.
Build relationships with other executive assistants and staff members to support effective organizational operations.
Formal Education Required:
High School or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
Experience and Credentials Required:
8 years of administrative support experience with at least five (5) years' experience supporting at the executive level.
Preferred Experience:
Experience using Diligent Boardbooks, BoardEffect and SharePoint preferred.
Familiarity with U.S. Administration, Capitol Hill, Association and industry leaders and protocols is helpful, it is not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.
Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects at various stages of development using effective organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with a wide variety of people to foster cooperation in sharing information and materials.
Interpersonal skills, member service orientation and ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive, and respectful.
Exhibits a steadfast commitment to discretion and confidentiality, ensuring the safeguarding of sensitive information and upholding the highest standards of professionalism in all executive support duties. Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job.
Ability to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, or other office equipment.
Travel to Annual Meeting may be required.
Report to the office five days a week.
Essential Physical Requirements:
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
