Description

At NorthBay Health the Advance Practice Professional (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) provides routine direct care to primary care/specialty care clinic patients.  This includes but is not limited to recheck and same day appointments.  Performs physical examinations; performs or orders diagnostic tests; performs procedures and treatments; establishes diagnosis; prescribes medications; instructs patients and family members about medical conditions and treatment. Provides continuity for patients with assigned physician practices.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program approved by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) OR Master's required. Graduate of an accredited nursing program including a Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program. 

  1. Licensure/Certifications: Current Physician Assistant licensure by the State of California Physician Assistant Examining Committee and Board Certified OR Current California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and Board Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. OR Current California Licensure as a Physician Assistant. Current AHA or equivalent certification in CPR.  Maintains a current DEA license for schedule 2 drugs and above.  Maintains a current Furnishing Number for medications.
  2. Experience:  Two year's experience as a Nurse Practitioner OR four years of clinical experience as a Nurse, OR completion of internship at NorthBay Health.  One year of experience in related field and ambulatory care preferred.
  3. Skills:  Demonstrates ability to evaluate patient's physical and emotional status. Demonstrates ability to provide patient care based on age-related needs. Demonstrates current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groupsPediatric, Adult, Young Adult, and Geriatric.  Demonstrates clear credentials check through the AHP process. Demonstrates ability to clearly set behavioral limits.
  4. Interpersonal Skills:   Demonstrates the NorthBay Way. Compensation and Benefits: 

Hourly Salary RangeMIN $85.43 MAX $109.32 (offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
