Job Description

 

Norfolk Southern Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Senior IAM Security Engineer. You'll join a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the quality of the corporation's Identity and Access Management (IAM). Responsible for analyzing, defining, designing, documenting, and testing business and system requirements for complex, high-profile projects. The candidate will act as a liaison between Information Security and business partners. 
 

Responsibilities
  • Manages application of security policies to meet security objectives and verification of security requirements satisfaction. 
  • Designs and implements security measures.
  • Leverages technical knowledge of firewalls, active directory, Windows Operating Systems, intrusion detection and prevention systems, proxy servers, endpoint forensics, breach indicators, and log aggregation technology to conduct analyses on how solutions help enterprises defend themselves.
  • Contributes to the implementation of security measures to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and recommend security changes. 
  • Collaborates with IT and the Business and provides security awareness training.
  • Develops tools, APIs and programs utilizing programming and scripting knowledge.
  • Provides incident response and response plans, coordinating with other IT groups and law enforcement, as required.
  • Identifies and internalizes new security technologies, implementation requirements, and how to integrate security technologies into a larger solution.
  • Assists with quality assurance and funnels up to team leads as required.
  • documenting requirements and designs.
  • Captures requirements with efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail on a consistent basis.
  • Interacts professionally with business partners, subject matter experts and development teams.
  • Analyzes and reports on organizational and system security posture trends.
  • Displays strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Applies high organizational skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exhibits strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-directs managing multiple work streams with an emphasis on overcoming challenges to complete assigned tasks and projects.
  • Conveys technical subject matters clearly, prompting actions to technical and business audience during presentations in small team meetings to advance project efforts.
     
Skills Required
  • 8+ years experience as Information Systems Engineer or Security Engineer or Cyber Security Engineer
  • Application integration, design and implementation experience. 

 

Skills Desired 

  • Experience as Information Security Engineer and/or Cyber Security Engineer
  • IAM engineer 
  • Application Integration experience
  • Networking, Linux, RHEL, Windows Administration 
  • Security certifications and knowledge of ISO and NIST security

 

Education
Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred.

Environment: Office Remote, ideal candidate must be based or relocated within 60 miles Atlanta.
