Primary Purpose:

Responsible for supporting projects related to ATC system design and performance. Provides data, documents, reports and analysis related to ATC BI, Train Control Systems and C&S Infrastructure Health, and Regulatory Compliance.

 

Principal Duties:

  • Participates in development efforts across multiple NS departments ensuring one NS vision for the evolution of applications related to Train Control Initiatives.
  • Works with NS resources to innovate, streamline and improve NS transportation, engineering, information technology and ATC applications and systems interfacing with the PTC system.
  • Provides accurate NS Train Control performance data for FRA as needed
  • Provides visibility of Train Control and C&S Infrastructure data in easily consumable formats including dashboards and automated reports
  • Builds and maintains knowledge of Train Control, energy management, C&S, dispatching and NS transportation back-office functions and interfaces
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of system requirements, interfaces and system hazards to support C&S
  • Provides support for industry-level Interoperable Train Control (ITC) teams and TTCI research projects as assigned

Job Related Experience:

   Minimum Level:  1-2 years

   Preferred Level:  3-5 years

 

Education:

   Preferred Level:  Bachelor's Degree (BS); Preferred Majors: Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Technology

 

Licenses / Certifications:

  •    Required:  None listed
  •    Preferred:  None listed

 

Technical Skills:

  • MS Office 365 including Visio
  • SQL
  • Spotfire, Power BI, or other business analytics platforms
  • Project Management applications such as Jira
  • Preferred proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language (i.e. Python, R)
