This position is a hybrid role (3x per week onsite) that will be based at our headquarters in Fremont, California. Our growing team is looking for a mechanical design engineer with expertise in designing hydraulic-powered machinery. 

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Leading the design process for hydraulic machine models, from concept development to final production.

  • Conducting structural and mechanical analysis using CAD software to optimize machine performance and durability.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that design specifications meet product requirements and industry standards.

  • Overseeing the fabrication and assembly of prototype machines, and conducting rigorous testing to validate performance and reliability.

  • Identifying areas for improvement in existing machine designs and implementing design modifications to enhance functionality and efficiency.

  • Developing test plans and procedures for reliability testing, including field testing in various soil conditions.

  • Analyzing test data and providing recommendations for design enhancements based on performance feedback.

Here is some of what you'll need (required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the heavy equipment or construction machinery industry.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and simulation.

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and components, including pumps, motors, valves, and actuators.

  • Experience with structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) techniques.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and fabrication.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues in the field.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

  • Experience designing hydraulic-powered machinery for construction or industrial applications.

  • Experience with Hydraulic powered machinery application and operations.

  • Familiarity with international standards and regulations related to heavy machinery design.

  • Experience with reliability engineering principles and tools.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Salary Applicable to California: $120,000 - 180,000
