The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key executive responsible for overseeing the information technology (IT) strategy and operations within an organization.

Role Summary: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for leading the development and execution of the organization's IT strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives. The CIO oversees the planning, implementation, and management of IT systems, infrastructure, applications, and resources to support the organization's operations and growth. Additionally, the CIO plays a crucial role in driving innovation, digital transformation, and cybersecurity initiatives. This position will be in our Fremont office location.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and communicate the organization's IT vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify opportunities for leveraging technology to enhance business processes, improve efficiency, and drive innovation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of IT policies, standards, and procedures.

Technology Infrastructure and Operations:

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems and services through effective monitoring, maintenance, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and partners to ensure quality and cost-effective delivery of IT services.

Application Development and Management:

  • Direct the development, implementation, and integration of software applications and platforms to support business processes and objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and agile development methodologies within the IT organization.

Data Management and Analytics:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of data management strategies, including data governance, quality assurance, and security.
  • Drive the use of data analytics and business intelligence tools to derive actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization's IT assets, data, and intellectual property.
  • Implement security controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate cyber threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify and address security risks proactively.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the IT department, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, building a high-performing IT team capable of executing the organization's IT strategy.
  • Mentor and coach IT staff, providing guidance and support for professional growth and development.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in IT leadership roles, with a track record of success in developing and implementing IT strategies that drive business value.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to understand and align technology initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Deep technical expertise across a range of IT domains, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Experience in managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and third-party contracts.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements, such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.

CA Salary Range $280,000-$330,000
