NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Manager, Licensing and Consumer Products based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Manager, Licensing and Consumer Products manages the day-to-day activities of NASCAR and NASCAR Team Properties (NTP) key hardlines licensing categories and initiatives including Toys, Trading Cards, Gift/Novelty, Sporting Goods, Tailgate/Outdoors, Non-Apparel Accessories, Publishing/Back to School, and Tools/Automotive. This position participates in licensing business development that deliver new and incremental revenue streams to the company, as well as additional programs and relationships as assigned.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Day-to-day liaison with licensees in assigned hard goods categories, managing licensing functions, including product development, approvals, renewals, royalty gathering, forecasting and reporting for assigned categories to drive bottom line growth and promote company's brand. Manages and works with licensees to expand retail distribution of licensed products.
- Facilitates meetings between the licensee and company's industry partners/sponsors that results in cross promotional marketing initiatives.
- Create, identify and pursue new business opportunities in assigned categories.
- Oversee legal, forecasting and accounting tasks related to licensing efforts.
- Work with toy partners, such as LEGO and others, to activate within the NASCAR Kids Zone at NASCAR sanctioned events.
- Work with online partner (currently Fanatics) and various track-based partners (currently Legends, SMI, E2, Cruisin') to ensure product placement and growth for assigned categories.
- Secure partner credentials
- Entertain clients at events
- Percent of travel required: 15%
Required skills / experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in licensing, account management, merchandising, retail development, sports licensing/brand management.
- Proficient on Company-provided hardware and software.
- Advanced Proficiency in Power Point and Excel preferred
- A strong working knowledge of licensing, retail, hard lines development and production, retail mathematics (Cost, Retail, Gross Margin, Sell-Through, etc.) is preferred.
