The Mount Sinai Health System Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Medical Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for Mount Sinai Hospital. The Medical Director oversees clinical operations, quality of care, and faculty development for pediatric emergency medicine at Mount
Sinai Hospital.
Working with MSH ED Medical Director, you will help provide overall clinical direction to the Department of Emergency Medicine at MSH while acting as a liaison for interdisciplinary initiatives. The Medical Director will work closely and collaboratively with the System Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine to develop initiatives and processes that will be applicable to all sites. The director will have a significant role in system wide and service line initiatives. The director will be a key representative for the department to Kravis Childrens Hospital and work closely with the Childrens Hospital team. With an annual volume of about 25,000, the Mount Sinai Hospital Childrens Emergency Department cares for children with a wide variety of illnesses and injuries in a modern space just renovated in 2022. We work closely with the Kravis Children's Hospital, a quaternary care children's hospital with full subspecialty care. The MSH Childrens ED is the referral center for the Mount Sinai Health System, includes 4 pediatric EDs, 5 general EDs, and sees approximately 100,000 pediatric visits annually. The MSH Childrens ED employs a diverse group of 10 full-time pediatric emergency medicine faculty, as well as several part-time and per diem faculty. It also hosts a PEM fellowship which is growing from three to six fellows beginning this year. The Childrens ED is staffed by pediatric nurses, child life, music therapy, and other pediatric-focused support services.

Two distinct Emergency Medicine residency programs train 160 residents per year across five sites. A crosscutting clinical division program brings expertise from across the system.
Collaboration across the department takes place through a series of committees focusing on Clinical Operations, Public Safety, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Quality and Safety, Patient Experience, Clinical Innovation and Population Health.
Position Qualifications:
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- Current New York Medical License
- Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Clinical and Administrative experience required
- Committed to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve
- Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
- Interest in innovative and creative approaches to operations, quality and safety as well as scholarship in the area.
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
