Job Description:
MOSM Ryan Ranch: Scheduling Coordinator
Temporary: 12 month assignment
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour
Under the leadership of the Office Manager, the Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the physician's office and surgical scheduling to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations. This includes scheduling in-office appointments and new patient referrals according to physician protocols, coordinating surgical procedures, securing required authorizations and pre-certifications, and verifying insurance eligibility. The role requires consistent communication with physicians, administrative staff, patients, and external facilities to ensure all appointments, procedures, and follow-up care are accurately arranged and supported with the appropriate documentation. Additionally, the Scheduling Coordinator provides backup coverage for colleagues, handles patient communications through calls, texts, faxes, and messages, and performs various general office duties. A strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and teamwork is essential, along with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding safety and professional standards in all interactions.
Experience
The ideal candidate must be computer literate with the ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute and a general understanding of basic computer systems. Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft applications is preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow through on tasks are essential. Candidates must possess excellent telephone communication skills and be capable of adapting to changing priorities, deadlines, and urgent situations. A working knowledge of medical terminology, office equipment, and filing systems is highly desirable. The role also requires the ability to read and write simple correspondence, communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers, and perform basic mathematical functions using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Strong reasoning skills are necessary to follow detailed instructions and address routine issues in a structured, fast-paced environment.
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two-year college degree, and/or two years office or related experience.
