This position supports our San Antonio and Central West Texas Divisions and will be located in either San Antonio or Austin, TX.
The Ethics and Compliance Officer (ECO) is responsible for effective implementation and leadership of the E & C at the division office and facilities within the division. Provides advice to facility ECOs and division leadership on ethics and compliance concerns. Assist with interpreting and applying the Code of Conduct (Code), Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures (E&C Policies) and other communication. Conduct investigations resulting from Ethics Line calls as assigned and assist facility ECOs in conducting investigations.
Provide leadership for the E&C Program within the division.
Understand the Code and E&C Policies.
Actively participate in division diversity council.
Provide support and guidance to facility ethics and compliance officers.
Develop and implement a system to inform Division President of the status of ethics and compliance issues at division facilities.
Periodically visit facilities to assess implementation of the E&C Program and provide guidance, as appropriate, to facility ECOs to improve the effectiveness of their programs.
Periodically participate in Facility Ethics and Compliance Committee (FECC) meetings and provide guidance, as appropriate.
Provide input and feedback regarding policies and procedures, as requested by the Corporate Ethics and Compliance Department (E&C Department).
Communicate E&C issues to leaders in the Division Office to encourage their involvement and support.
Work collaboratively with ECOs from Parallon Business units, including Shared Services, Supply Chain, Workforce Management Solutions, and Division IT&S, HCA physician services.
Be aware of new initiatives within the division and provide guidance where necessary (e.g, transfer centers, call centers, scheduling centers).
This individual will also be responsible for working hand in hand with the Division's senior leaders in developing the future strategy and prioritization of compliance initiatives.
Education and Experience
Strong leadership, creativity, and excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and an in-depth understanding of hospital or healthcare compliance issues; Working knowledge of corporate compliance program(s) and healthcare laws and regulations; and results oriented with 7+ years' experience in healthcare compliance.
Bachelor's degree plus 7 plus years experience in healthcare compliance
Master's degree Health Care Administration
