Overview:

 

This position is responsible for building and maintaining an accurate and complete Charge-master to ensure appropriate submission, reimbursement and compliance as related to governmental billing regulations across any Mercy or Mercy maintained facility. Provides continued maintenance and support post EPIC implementation. This position will work closely with multidisciplinary clinical and revenue teams at each facility to continue the standardization of the CDM as well as collaboration with the EPIC project team for new and ongoing implementations. This position will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mercy mission, values and guiding principles.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Significant experience in coding and CDM knowledge at an acute care hospital, including awareness of the pay-or mix specific to Mercy entities and the unique coding requirements based on those pay-ors.
    • Experience working with Fiscal Intermediary requirements and the ability to obtain working knowledge of all FI's utilized across Mercy entities and how the CMS regulations are interpreted.
    • Three to five years health care experience.
  • Required Education: Bachelors degree or comparable work experience with emphasis in Health Information Management, Finance, Nursing or related field.
  • Certifications: EPIC certification required within 2 years of hire date.
  • Other:
    • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and accomplish and carry out goals
    • Travel required for Pre EPIC go live sites visits, EPIC implementations and follow up visits as well as travel for training and education as needed.
