Overview:

 

This position reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for supporting the production and reconciliation of financial statements, ad-hoc reporting, and month-end reports for Mercy Clinic – Springfield. This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial information to support operational and strategic decision making. The Sr. Consultant Finance will provide services to the department in a timely and efficient manner and will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university. 
  • Experience: Position requires a minimum of five years accounting or financial analysis experience. 
  • Other:
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups including senior leaders.
    • Strong written and oral communication
    • Ability to effectively guide co-workers and lead team in completing
    • Knowledge of proper financial statement formats and disclosures required under
    • Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to work independently to meet project
    • Ability to work with and preserve confidential Any travel required? (Will vary by specific position/location)
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Healthcare financial reporting experience.  
    • Lawson financial system experience.
  • Preferred Other: 
    • Prior experience with Microsoft Access or similar database program. 
    • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Self-driven and independent, demonstrating an ability to work with minimal supervision to accomplish and carry out goals/objectives.
