About Our Infusion Unit:
We are opening a New Unit - that will be driven by need! This unit will be inside our main hospital and will serve as an overflow unit for the Cancer Center at Jefferson that is located to the left of our main hospital. The overflow unit will allow for non-chemotherapy infusion services during and outside of normal daytime hours offered.
The nurse hired would train in our main Cancer Center during our normal M-F hours and then once our new unit is open would be responsible for helping cover the hours in the overflow unit that would include evenings and likely weekends. Hours initially may vary so we prefer someone open on availability.
This units patient/nurse ratio would be 2:1, until we build up the volume, there may be days that you float to the offsite Infusion center.
Overview:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- License: current RN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days
- Preferred Experience: Infusion Experience
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or can be obtained within 90 days
