Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)

Mercy Hospital South 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128

Status: PRN (As Needed)
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Overview:

Responsible for assessment, problem identification and problem-solving for patient/staff education relating to breastfeeding. Develops, implements and evaluates the lactation education program. Emphasis with focus on antepartum, postpartum, nurseries and specifically related outpatient clientele.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, along with specialized training or completion of a relevant internship.

  • Licensure: Must hold a current RN license or RN Temporary Permit in the State of Missouri.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience required.

  • Certifications: Lactation education certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree or additional relevant coursework preferred.

  • Licensure: Additional or multi-state licensure preferred.

  • Experience: Prior experience in lactation support or related specialty preferred.

  • Certifications: Additional certifications in maternal-child health or lactation consulting preferred.

  • Other: Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
