Position Overview

As an Emergency Department Paramedic, you will provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), following established standards and protocols. You'll play a vital role in coordinating care across departments, ensuring patient rights, and maintaining confidentiality. Every action you take will reflect our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.
  • Assist RNs and physicians with procedures and interventions.
  • Monitor and document patient status accurately.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Uphold patient rights and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Licensure: Graduate of EMT-P training and licensed as a Paramedic in the state of practice.
  • Experience: Open to experienced or newly licensed paramedics.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; frequent bending, lifting, and moving patients.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (required; may obtain during orientation).
    • ACLS and PALS may be required based on department needs.

Preferred:

  • One year of paramedic experience.
  • Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS).
