The Medication Administration Safety Lead is responsible for supporting continuous quality improvement efforts by serving as the expert resource for medication safety related technology data.This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for both barcode medication administration as well as smart IV pump medication safety and data. The medication administration safety lead will have strong working relationships with nursing and quality and safety at the ministry and community levels to improve the use of medication safety technologies and design safer medication use processes. Position Details:
Education: Bachelors degree in nursing, pharmacy or other relevant clinical discipline.
Licensure: Relevant clinical license.
Experience: 6-8 years healthcare related experience with experience with data management.
Certifications: Have obtained medication safety certification (e.g. from ASHP/ISMP), or enroll in certification program within a year of hire.
Other: Advanced knowledge and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, MS ACCESS, PowerPoint. Able to format and create reports based on data extraction and analysis. Must have exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Knowledge & ability to learn commonly used drugs and IV device technology.
Preferred Education: Advanced degree preferred (Masters degree or above).
Preferred Experience: Experience in quality and process improvement, working knowledge in biostatistics.
