Overview:

Under direct supervision of the radiology file room leader, radiology manager and radiology director, the Imaging Service Technician is a multi proficient co-worker responsible for coordinating inter- departmental communication, imaging orders, reports, disk and image distribution and any other radiology file room duties as assigned , facilitating smooth patient access to radiology, provides personalized customer service and hospitality to patients and customers in-person and by phone, Interdepartmental transportation of patients, verification of orders and authorizations, work-queue management, scheduling of radiology exams, basic explanation of radiology exams, order entry of laboratory & radiology exams, assist radiology modalities as assigned, purge hard copy film according to Mercy Policy, perform other tasks as assigned by leaders. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mercy mission, vision, values and service standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Experience in patient care setting and computerized systems strongly preferred. Medical terminology preferred. 
• Required Education: High school graduate.
• Preferred Education: Some post high school education preferred.
• Other: Must possess excellent organizational, customer service and critical thinking skills.
