Overview:

 

The Quality and Training Coordinator is responsible for teaching and educating Mercy Sterile Processing management and front-line co-workers on all aspects of their work. Incumbent will be monitoring, evaluating, and recording training activities and determining Mercy Sterile Processing program effectiveness. Incumbent will hold Mercy Sterile Process specific training to co-workers to help them improve, maintain and learn the skills required to complete Mercy Sterile Processing work assignments. Incumbent will also be responsible for assessing the training needs of the co-workers and will organize, develop or obtain new training programs if the existing ones do not meet standards. Incumbent will present information using different technique's such as lecture, group discussion, role playing or videos. Incumbent will evaluate any training material that is used within Mercy Sterile Processing and monitor training costs to make sure that the budget is maintained. In addition, the incumbent will assist in quality control activities in the department. Some of the responsibilities will include visual, ATP, and VeriClean inspections, managing a QA program, compile QC information for Infection Prevention monthly meetings, and other QC responsibilities. They will also assist in maintaining departmental policy and procedures and ensuring compliance with Sterile Processing Industry standards. Coordinator should be fluent in CRCST Training and Compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least one year in Sterile Processing, or comparable healthcare experience.
  • Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred Education: Graduate of a Sterile Processing Program, or comparable program in healthcare related field
  • Certifications: CRCST obtained within one year of hire if not already acquired
  • Other: Strong computer skills; proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; and the ability to operate related computer software. Being able to use business equipment such as a 10-key, telephone, VCR/DVD and other training equipment is also essential to your position as a Training Manager. Working conditions, mental and physical requirements:This position requires great flexibility and an ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Equipment Used: General administrative office and computer equipment. Multi-line telephone and pager.
