Today, as Mercy Hospital South, we continue that legacy. Mercy Hospital South is the third-largest medical center in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Our team offers advanced medical treatment in several specialties, including acute rehabilitation, cardiology, maternity services, oncology/cancer care, orthopedics, neurology/stroke, surgery and emergency medicine.

What we do
-Adult patients age 18 and older
-Varying neurologic diagnoses including embolic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, hematomas, seizures, neuro-muscular diseases, neurologic surgery
-Acute level II trauma patients with multi-system involvement
-Acute vascular, thoracic, abdominal/GI, ENT, Orthopedic and general surgery patients
-Coordinate and prioritize care with multi-disciplinary services
-Utilize telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, central lines, thermoregulation devices, continuous renal replacement therapy, intracranial pressure monitoring,etc. in order to provide specialized care to critically ill patients
-Assist physician groups with bedside procedures
-Are part of a culture of continuous learning and growth
-Are provided an opportunity for professional development through our clinical ladder program
-Are empowered to have a voice in their practice through our Unit Based Council
-The SICU/NSD ICU is a 16 bed unit.
-We have a 2:1 patient to nurse ratio.
-Opportunities to cross train into our Rapid Response and Stroke Team
-Advanced education provided including ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS
-Proudly a Level 1 Stroke Center!

**RN Loan Forgiveness Program to aide in paying off your student loan debt. Up to $5,000 per year over a period of 4 ½ years ($20,000 cap). Must graduate within prior 12-months of employment with Mercy as a registered nurse to qualify.
- We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.
- You'll also need a current RN license in our state.
- Basic life support training should be completed in 90 days with advanced training required at certain intervals.
