Physician, Gastroenterological Hospitalist
Location: MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center
Position Summary
ProHealth Partners Medical Group has a full-time employment opportunity for a board-certified (or board-eligible) Gastroenterologist for the GI Hospitalist team serving MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. Candidates with proven leadership abilities and experience may be considered for a Medical Directorship.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- The GI Hospitalist will be responsible for inpatient coverage, consults, and procedures
- Successful candidates will have expertise and experience treating a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions
- Must be skilled in basic upper and lower endoscopy, enteral access, and management of GI emergencies (variceal / ulcer bleeding, food impactions, volvulus)
- Advanced endoscopy training is beneficial
- 100% Hospital-based, inpatient role
- EMR system: Epic
Qualifications
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Gastroenterology
- Board certification in Gastroenterology (or board eligible)
- Must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of California
- DEA registration
- Current BLS and DEA
Requirements, Schedule and Program Support
- Schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off from 7am to 7pm and call between 7pm and 7am with strong subspecialty support; Night call can be taken from home with an expectation to come in for GI bleeds (hospitalist will stabilize non-bleeds for next day)
- Supported by 2 GI PAs
- Therapeutic endoscopy and back up support available
