General Summary of Position
MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center has a full-time Supervisor opportunity on our Telecommunications team. This role plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Telecommunications department in accordance with applicable administrative and regulatory requirements. Assists callers to the hospital, including patients, physicians and members of the community, providing accurate information and efficient service.
The Telecommunications department is open 24/7. This position is mostly day shift (9am-5pm) with rotating weekends on-call and some evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays are required as well.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree preferred.
Experience
- 3-4 years Experience working for a telephone company, as a telephone technician and/or working technical supervisor lead preferred.
- 1-2 years experience working with pbx and voice mail systems, large phone switchboard, programming of phone switches and call accounting software preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to access, comprehend and follow the policies and procedures for MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
- Ability to read, write and speak or communicate in English to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the position.
- Ability to demonstrate ethical behavior that supports the hospital's mission, vision, SPIRIT values and commitment to compliance with all federal, state and regulatory laws. Inspires trust and exhibits honesty and integrity within the scope of daily activities.

This position has a hiring range of $23.19 - $40.61
