General Summary of Position
Assists in the supervision and direction of the daily activities for the Imaging Department. Performs diagnostic procedures within assigned/credentialed modality.


Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Required or
  • equivalent. Required
  • Experience

    • 1-2 years 2 years technologist experience within assigned/credentialed modality. 2 years experience in diagnostic radiology Required or
    • Licenses and Certifications

      • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists As applicable to modality: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology), ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Required or
      • NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board); Required and
      • ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography As applicable to modality: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology), ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Required
      • licensed in the State of Maryland as required for modality. Required
      • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

        • Demonstrated leadership skills.
        • Verbal and written communication skills.
        • Basic computer skills preferred.

        • Primary Duties and Responsibilities

        • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
        • Acquires ordered images including evaluating these images for technical quality. Sends images to appropriate destinations for interpretation.
        • Coordinates the daily activities of staff consistent with workload requirements and available personnel.
        • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintains diagnostic and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs regularly scheduled quality control.

        • Obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedures.
        • Prepares documentation as required by the profession and the department. Completes necessary clerical and computer tasks as required.
        • Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
        • Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
