General Summary of Position
MedStar Washington Hospital Center is looking for a full-time Staffing Coordinator Support Services in the Operations Staffing Office. The Staffing Coordinator Support Services performs staffing functions and activities for all Support Services departments in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists in maintaining accurate staffing levels for Support Services personnel. Responsible for maintaining all edits daily for payroll, scheduling system, and other duties as assigned. Reports to the Staffing Manager Support Services.

Primary Duties
Oversees staffing coordination and placement for all Support Services departments in accordance with WHC staffing principles.
Trouble shoots, and problem solves special staffing issues with the Staffing Manager as necessary.
Inputs, monitors and maintains accurate computerized schedules for staff monthly.
Proactively critiques time schedules checking for accuracies, variances and adherence to staffing matrices and standard staffing ratios.
Maintains all daily schedule changes in scheduling system.
Maintains and confirms census accuracy in scheduling system and distributes census and staffing updates to Support Services departments.
Covers for call outs, obtain extra staff when the need arises.
Keeps Managers and Directors informed of chronic absenteeism, excessive sick time and habitual late offenders.
Maintains systems to record, evaluate, recognize, track and distribute staffing schedules and reports to maintain an efficient staffing system for the hospital. Manages databases and creates complex queries and reports for department and Support Services leadership.
Answers all phone lines as calls come in using proper etiquette.
Communicates with co-workers of pending staff changes or other needed information for the following shift.
Communicates with Managers of schedule deadline and assists them to meet it.
Performs staffing and personnel analyses to determine trends, productivity and to provide statistical support for budget preparation.
Sends notice to all Licensed staff for renewal deadline. Follows up on an as needed basis.
Organizes and directs various projects and activities of the Staffing Office. Ensures that objectives are clearly and concisely documented and are congruent with overall hospital strategic and operational goals. Establishes operational priorities and activities to facilitate and to support organizational success.
Serves as departmental liaison with internal departments and with external vendors.
Manages the collection and disbursement of statistical information related to the department for evaluation, control, and planning.
Assist co-workers with job duties when needed.
Works collaboratively with others to organize, initiate, and coordinate continuous quality improvement activities throughout Support Services.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, Required.
Associate's degree, Preferred.
Minimum of 1 year in a highly busy facility, Required.
Payroll and/or scheduling experience, Preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and phone etiquette.
