General Summary of Position
Responsibilities include classroom and clinical teaching in the in accelerated BSN nursing program of designated university that MedStar Washington Hospital (MWHC) Center has a contractual academic-practice partnership. Serves as Master Teacher by providing faculty development and monitoring to Clinical Nursing instructors, Nurse Educators and advanced Nurse Educators. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, recruitment, and retention activities; ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum; professional development; scholarly activity; participation in program, college and university committees and other activities that benefit the Scholars program and WHC.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Doctoral degree in Nursing, Education, or Healthcare Administration or in process with Chief Nurse Executive approval. required
Experience
- 5-7 years of progressively more responsible job related experience in nursing with at least 5 years of teaching experience in a BSN program required
- Experience in a nursing advanced practice role (education, clinical or administrative) preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required
- Certification in the specialty area from a nationally recognized nursing organization. within 1 Year required
- Nursing Professional Development within 36 months of hire. required
- Cert Nurse Educator - CNE within 36 months of hire. required
- BLS - Basic Life Support required
