Job Summary: 

 
MedStar Health has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading, facilitating, and administratively supporting the activities, goals, and initiatives of the Women's and Infants' Services department. Coordinates, executes, and implements projects for the Women's and Infants' Services department. Provides key support and project management functions to leaders, physicians, and associates. 

 
Primary Duties: 

  • Provides guidance and support to plan, implement and coordinate projects with direction from the Senior Director, Department Chair, and Ambulatory Nursing Director. Researches and applies evidence-based and best practice models to guide project planning. Tracks and reports on progress and milestones. 

  • Provides significant support in the preparation of high-quality presentations for internal and external audiences. Create presentations incorporating text, graphics, and other media sources. 

  • Serves as the project owner and manager for outpatient satisfaction surveys, metrics, analysis, and reporting. Maintains dashboards and presentations. Works closely with all stakeholders, including Women's and Infants' leadership, physicians, and administrative staff. Serves as department data subject matter expert. Leads quality improvement departmental initiatives. 

  • Provides support and works with ambulatory practices and hospital departments on regulatory initiatives such as TJC/DOH survey preparation. Maintains current knowledge of standards, rules, and regulations as mandated by regulatory bodies, and provides regulatory updates to leaders and teams as appropriate. 

  • In collaboration with the Revenue Cycle, PUBS and Central Scheduling teams, designs, disseminates, and tracks metrics and develops analytics for quantitative analysis. Responsible for preparation and analysis of Professional/Hospital revenue cycle reports. Supports data management initiatives and owns processes for ongoing data reporting. Point of contact for department requests. 

  • With direction from the Senior Director, coordinates clinician and leader interview schedules, resident activities, and the Physician On-Boarding process, working with key stakeholders to direct the team's priorities and processes. 

  • Responsible for undertaking high level data analysis using advanced statistical software and providing commentary on data reporting results. Evaluates the work groups output, outcomes, reporting, and data analytics and provides feedback to the teams on performance. 

  • Participates in regional and system-wide projects for Ambulatory Services as needed. 

  • With direction from the Senior Director, Department Chair, and Ambulatory Nursing Director, responsible for written communications to leadership and/or physicians regarding operational updates, changes, etc. 

  • Provided administrative support for Department Chair, Senior Director and Ambulatory Nursing Director. 

  • In coordination with Public Affairs & Marketing and other internal departments, manages departmental publications, websites, and marketing requests, including gathering and editing content. Consult with appropriate departmental contacts to gather information and ensure accuracy. 

  • Collaborates with Community Outreach in seeking opportunities for engagement with external organizations to support broad multi-stakeholder initiatives. 

  • Submits/tracks travel & expense reimbursements and capital budget requests. Enters administrative purchase orders and submits departmental invoices for payment. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Healthcare Administration required. 

  • Master's Degree preferred. 

  • 1-2 years progressively more responsible job-related experience in a healthcare or healthcare related setting required. 

  • Must understand project management and be able to utilize project management concepts and tools as appropriate. 

  • Ability to conduct internet research. 

  • Strong writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
