Inpatient Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary NP or PA- Inpatient Opportunity at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

We are looking for a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Transplant Hepatobiliary Surgery team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute is one of the largest liver transplant centers in the nation, with more than 100 transplants a year. We transplant patients faster than any other center in the region.  

Job Duties  

  • Provide and coordinate clinical practice for patients pre- and post- kidney, liver, pancreas, and intestinal transplant, Hepatobiliary surgery for patients followed by the Transplant surgery service  

  • The APP is responsible for conducting patient assessments, performing evaluations, prescribing, obtaining H&Ps, order and review diagnostic testing, formulate plans, write progress notes, and provide education or patients and their families.  

  • In collaboration with attending physician and multi-disciplinary team, round daily on patients to assess, diagnose, plan treatment, set priorities and realistic outcomes, and evaluate effectiveness of treatments 

  • Post-operative stabilization and management with discharge planning and collaborative care 

  • Discharge planning in coordination with our case manager and social worker 

This position is inpatient only, rotating days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
