General Summary of Position
Assists and facilitates the admissions process of (AIDS) patients to the "Gift of Peace". Serves as a liaison between patients, the community and the "Gift of Peace". Coordinates medical care and services for Gift of Peace Patients. Advocates for the patient and families to ensure medical needs are met. Promotes patient rights and enhances customer service and patient satisfaction. Interacts with Gift of Peace associates in a positive, pleasant and professional manner to coordinate efficient patient flow through the medical practice.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree required and
- Bachelor's degree in a health care field preferred and
- equivalent combination required or
- relevant experience and education. required
Experience
- 1-2 years 2 years in patient relations, healthcare, customer service or related field required and
- Related field required and
- Experience working with chronically ill patients and their families preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to identify and address obstacles to high-quality patient care and satisfaction;
- Ability to diffuse stressful situations; well-developed listening, interpretative and conciliation skills;
- Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds;
- Ability to demonstrate ethical behavior that inspires trust and exhibits honesty and integrity within the scope of daily activities;
- Ability to think creatively and problem solve, Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, Knowledge of medical terminology and sensitivity to terminal illnesses;
- Ability to fill ADAP forms and other similar forms to access prescription coverage.
This position has a hiring range of $18.33 - $31.61
