MedStar Health is looking for an Echocardiograph Technologist to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center! The ideal candidate will be an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) registered sonographer with knowledge of HIPAA policies on confidentiality.
As an Echocardiograph Technologist, you will operate diagnostic equipment to produce high quality echocardiograms.

Primary Duties:
Clinical: Operates diagnostic equipment and performs diagnostic procedures. Positions patient for procedure properly, explains the process to patients and any instructions the patient needs to follow. Scans patients and produces high quality echocardiograms. Operates all equipment correctly, considering patient, staff, and personal safety. Properly positions the patient for procedure and informs patient what to expect during the procedure as well as any instructions that the patient needs to follow. Monitors patients during procedures. Assesses and evaluates ultrasound images. Interacts with physicians regarding scans. Prepares echo report, enters data in Xelera prior to physician interpretation.
Environmental: Maintains a clean, safe, prepared work environment - Prepares room for procedure. Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table. Restocks and requests room supplies that have dwindled. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be replenished.
Development: Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs. Attends continuing education programs to maintain registry. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department. Completes all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within allotted time for completion.
Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in inter-departmental teams and committees, communicating unit knowledge as appropriate. Provides department/unit with information and knowledge acquired during participation with interdepartmental teams and committees. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff, supervisors, and managers both inside and outside the unit.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of an Echocardiography program.
1-2 years' experience preferably in an inpatient setting.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registration required through ARDMS within 180 Days.
CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) Category C Certification.
