General Summary of Position
The Director of Partnerships is the strategic and relationship lead for MedStar Health's entire sports partnership portfolio. This includes professional teams, colleges/universities, athletic events (i.e. running festivals), high schools, and community/recreational partnerships. Responsible for supporting growth in MedStar Health brand equity through MedStar Health's sports partnerships.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Ensures compliance with hospital/facility policies and procedures and governmental/accreditation regulations.
  • Acts as the lead day-to-day relationship contact with all sports partnerships.
  • Develops and manages the annual partnership marketing plan to support growth in MedStar Health system brand equity.
  • Leads all partnership activation and execution while ensuring all contractual assets are delivered to include stadium/facility signage, digital asset development, print, video content, supporting promotional activity, on-site activation, etc.
  • Ensures proper and approved use of team and MedStar Health marks and entitlements in all executions.
  • Manages partnership marketing budget.
  • Manages sports marketing agency relationships.
  • Serves as the lead MedStar Health contact for all sponsorship negotiations, representing MedStar Health business interests and stewardship of contract approvals.
  • Evaluates new partnership opportunities and ROI on current partnerships.
  • Partners with program leaders to ensure alignment of sports medicine business unit goals and priorities.
  • Leads corporate hospitality initiatives in partnership with the CEO's office, including managing the MedStar Health suite at M&T Bank Stadium, suite opportunities at Capital One Arena and Camden Yards, ticket banks, and team partner trips.
  • Works collaboratively with other marketing departments (PR, digital/social, service-line marketers) to activate MedStar Health sports partnerships.
  • Establishes relationships with sports medicine physicians/clinicians.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or liberal arts required

    Experience

    • 10+ years Sports/other sponsorship marketing experience including significant Big 4 league partnership experience (NFL/NBA/NHL/MLB) as a lead or primary relationship required and
    • Should have some service industry experience required and
    • Sports marketing agency experience preferred

    Licenses and Certifications

    • No special certification, registration or licensure required
