General Summary of Position
Reporting to the Chief Wellbeing Officer, the Director Operations for the MedStar Health Center for Wellbeing (MCW) directs and executes the daily operational activities of the MCW. This position is a part of the MCW leadership team (LT) and, in coordination with other MCW LT members, ensures day-to-day implementation of MCW's strategic vision and operational priorities. Oversees strategic plan for wellbeing programming across MedStar Health, supervising the assistant director of wellbeing benefits in related work and wellbeing committee management.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as key member of the MCW senior leadership team (LT), partnering with the Chief Wellbeing Officer to prepare for and help facilitate leadership team and all-staff meetings and priorities.
  • In partnership with MCW senior LT, responsible for development and execution of the MCW strategic plan. Researches and maintains awareness of peer operations externally to ensure center maintains its national reputation and leadership.
  • Oversees and supports effective MCW personnel management and engagement.
  • Ensures day-to-day execution of MCW's strategic vision and operational priorities through directing or managing operational activities, projects, platforms, and programs, maintaining appropriate communications with the MCW leadership team.
  • Ensures that the MCW LT initiatives are aligned with the goals of the MCW, MedStar Institute for Innovation (MI2), and MedStar Health.
  • Oversees MedStar Health stakeholder management across key strategic partnerships, including philanthropy, entity leadership, local wellbeing committees, etc.
  • Oversees programming integration with MedStar Health entities to provide support for the local wellness initiatives, supervising the assistant director of wellbeing benefits in related work and wellbeing committee management.
  • Develops and communicates operational objectives that are clearly and concisely documented and are congruent with overall strategic and operational goals of same stakeholders.
  • Oversees strategic business planning/meeting management, program development, vendor contracting, and communications (including website enhancement and management), with support from direct report(s).
  • In partnership with MCW senior LT, supports strategy and execution of MCW education and research agenda.
  • Oversees MCW data acquisition and integration strategies, including assessment of program utilization and effectiveness.
  • Oversees external recognition of the MCW by nationally recognized bodies (e.g.: WELCOA, ANA, AMA, MD Healthiest Businesses, etc.).
  • Oversees strategy and implementation of digital wellbeing resources.
  • In partnership with MCW senior LT and MedStar Health operational communications, supports communication campaigns related to wellbeing.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree In related field required and
    • Master's degree preferred
    • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience

    • 8-10 years Relevant experience including equivalent leadership experience required
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Communication skills, program development and evaluation skills.


    This position has a hiring range of $111,779 - $212,513
