MedStar Health is looking for a Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!
Shift is 3 - 12 hour shifts per week
- Week one M-W-F 7:00am - 7:30pm
- Week two T-TH-SAT 7:00am - 7:30pm
As a Computed Tomography Technologist, you will perform C.T. examinations in accordance with established protocols, as requested by referring physicians. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Primary Duties:
Performs full range of CT imaging procedures promptly on all patient types as specified by protocol. The ability to perform venipuncture, the injection of contrast media, and non-narcotic medication required for effective diagnostic imaging and scanning. Must adhere to the direction, policy and procedures as defined by physician modality director.
Adheres to the policies and procedures that apply to the performance of obtaining CT studies, including performing correct, exam, including laterality, on correct patient at the time requested and correct CT protocol. Must adhere to radiation safety practices for the scanning of patients.
Ensures timely completion of all exams through tracking, scanning and other technical workflow as related to Radiology Information System (RIS, Enterprise Radiology Solutions (ERS) and Enterprise Electronic Record (EMR). Directs patient flow on assigned scanner. Seeks to maximize productivity while minimizing patient waiting times before, during and after the procedure.
Coordinates and collaborates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover. Maintains a neat work area, wipes down assigned equipment between cases, stocks and maintains supplies at identified inventory levels in assigned lab. adheres to all related safety requirements and reports need for equipment repairs.
Coordinates, communicates, and collaborates with Patient Financial Associates that register radiology exams to minimize delays and potential safety issues for the outpatient population. Provides basic information to patients and/or families about procedures to be performed and can answer questions if asked.
Qualifications:
Completed training in an approved Radiologic Technology program.
A.R.R.T. registered.
ARRT advanced certification in CT within 1 year.
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Prior C.T. experience preferred.
This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
