General Summary of Position
We are actively recruiting for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist II to join our pharmacy team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Our team and department is very engaged in direct patient care, advancing pharmacy services, and working collaboratively with providers and nursing.
Daily activities focus on primary medicine service line coverage through floor-based rounds. This position involves collaborating and consulting with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficacious and cost-effective prescribing, dispensing, administration and monitoring of medication and improved patient outcomes.
Additional clinical activities include discharge counseling and patient education, therapeutic monitoring with extensive pharmacy to manage services and dosing protocols, medication reconciliation and working with our medication history technicians, and project management with both local and system opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral degree PharmD or an equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy required
- PGY-1 or 3 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting required
- Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
- RPH - Registered Pharmacist - Pharmacist licensure in the state of Maryland required
- Board certification required within 1 year of eligibility
