General Summary of Position
Manages clinical operations to include design and build, implementation, and maintenance of all cardiac catheterization labs, EP labs and the Hybrid OR. Recommends, leads, and implements improvements, enhancements, testing, updates, and modifications to clinical operations applications. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with user departments and hospital vendors to ensure appropriate training and utilization of all cardiovascular equipment and supplies. Identifies opportunities to improve and support clinical department/unit operations.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures for administrative and clinical applications to include downtime procedures.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Coordinates with end users in troubleshooting problems and resolving software or procedural issues.
  • Creates ad hoc reports using system report writer or other tools to meet user and leadership information needs.
  • DFM for the Cardiac Service line supply chain- Responsible for researching, procuring and maintaining all inventory across the procedural cardiac service line. Work with corporate cardiology and IR work groups to assure MedStar compliance with supplies across the system.
  • Executes project tasks including providing input for project work plans, resources, timetables, costs, administrative reporting, and acceptance criteria. This includes supporting the building of new interventional suites across MedStar north as needed. Meets with the capital vendors and architects to facilitate building plans and timelines for completion.
  • Leads and implements improvements, enhancements, updates and modifications to administrative and clinical applications.
  • MacLab and DMS administrator- Responsible for the all functions of the hemodynamic monitoring system. Creates, maintains all lists, macros and module maintenance for accuracy.
  • Maintains the cardiovascular information systems support in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • PACS administrator - Responsible for all Cath lab, EP, Cardiac and Vascular lab Ultrasound images. Maintain Syngo Dynamics and MLA Servers to assure proper functioning and to store all images without exceptions.
  • Responsible for scheduling and maintaining the PM's across the service line, working in conjunction with the biomedical engineering department.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the billing functions for the department to assure accuracy for reimbursement and CMS compliance.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in a health care related field required and
    • 15 years related experience in cardiovascular supply chain and clinical interventional procedures. required

    Experience

    • 3-4 years 4 years related experience in a healthcare or business environment, including customer service, information systems, and project management experience in cardiovascular system networking and hardware applications. required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong analytical ability to solve complex technical problems.
    • Competent in micro computing including desktop applications, scheduling, and communication applications.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal/external customers.
    • Understanding of information systems and their impact to customers.
    • Ability to train end users and develop learning aids.
    • Use of creative techniques to educate end users who are not computer competent.
    • Ability to generate application reports for leadership.
