SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem
EMT Basic / EMT-B Medical City Denton PRN
Position Summary: The EMT performs direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Paramedic/EMT Practice Act, and utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. The EMT Basic also maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, and identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. He/she participates in performance improvement activities to assure continuous quality improvement, and provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission statement. Each RN decides on a case-by-case basis what nursing tasks may be delegated to the unlicensed personnel in accordance with Rule 224 (relating to RN delegation in acute care settings or for patients with acute conditions).
- Licensed EMT-B by the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- One year preferred
- Verification of at least a high school minimum education as required by Joint Commission for employees performing moderate complexity laboratory testing.
